About:

My life changing experience brought me to the Art of painting on Silk. Upon graduating from Ohio State University, 1966. I spent three years as a US Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines. Afterward I went to Java and studied Batik under Indonesia’s Master Batik Artist Bambang Oetoro. The opportunity to live and work with a master craftsmen quite literally opened me to my life passions within me. The love of textile arts and the connection of art in my spiritual direction. 35 years later, I am in my studio in Sarasota Florida preparing a major exhibition of Orchid paintings on silk. I can still see that young person that sat down to study Batik in Indonesia 35 years ago. Today, I still feel the same creative spirit in the world of silk and I am delighted to share this with you.

Previous to moving to Sarasota I was a studio art director and artist working in New York City with two exceptional silk artists. Our commission works are displayed throughout the United States and Europe. Commissioned art works are on display at:
