Artists’s Notes
“For some reason, I have a penchant for stormy days and moody skies. I was at the ‘much painted’ Dan Byrd’s bait shop on New Pass, this time on the southern approach to the bridge. A squall line blew in from the Gulf, almost ripping the sketch book out of my hands!”
“I painted the scene with a heavy hand to recreate the mood of the actual conditions. There are no pen lines in this painting, just bold strokes of the brush, opaque paint, and dark colors to depict the cold, biting wind that preceded the approaching storm.”
